Green Mining · pre-assessment

Assess your mine. Green the land.

Register the mine, demarcate tailings, pits and water, and scan it. The scan runs the engineering engines and returns the risks; the plan adds rehabilitation, solar and farming options and what to plant on the tailings to absorb toxicity.

Registering takes you straight to the risk scan, which runs the engineering engines on your boundary, water and tailings. Greening and land-use planning live on the Plan & comply page.

What to assess next — and what each means

guided
1
Map the boundary, tailings dams & assetson file

Draw the full mine footprint, then drop each tailings dam, waste-rock dump, pit and pollution-control dam onto the satellite map. A tailings storage facility (TSF) is the engineered dam that holds processing waste and water — usually the biggest safety and water risk on a mine, so it is placed and sized first.

Boundary mapped · 0 facilities recorded.
2
Scan the mine & assess risksstart here

Runs the engines across the saved boundary, water, tailings and chemicals and returns a risk register — each item with its owner and next action. Where you have captured surveyed crest/pond levels, metered water volumes or laboratory results, the scan computes freeboard, the water balance and lab exceedances live; where you have not, it tells you exactly what to provide and never reads a gap as "all clear".

The scan calls the executable science engines and shows which ones ran.
3
Tailings & dam safetyneeds detail

For each dam we look at three separate things: freeboard — the vertical gap between the lowest surveyed dam crest and the water level, so a storm cannot overtop it; the GISTM consequence class — how severe a failure would be downstream, judged independently of how likely it is; and inspection currency. There is no single invented "safety score" — a dam-safety verdict needs a competent Engineer of Record.

Dam / pollution-control dam 1 · 29.9 ha
No tailings facility recorded — add one on the map if the mine has a TSF or waste dump.
4
Water circuit & qualityneeds detail

Map where water enters, is recycled and leaves the site. A water balance reconciles inflows against outflows and storage so nothing is unaccounted; high-risk streams are then flagged for laboratory testing, because the colour or look of water never establishes its chemistry. Lab results are compared to your reference values — not treated as legal limits.

Dam / pollution-control dam 1 · 29.9 haExcavation / open pit 1 · 62.8 haWaste rock dump 1 · 24.6 haWaste rock dump 2 · 64.9 ha
No water circuit declared yet — add inflow, use and wastewater in the intake.
5
Chemicals & disposalrecommended

Record each stored chemical with its storage, disposal and spill protocols. High-hazard chemicals held within 100 m of a watercourse with an incomplete protocol are flagged for sampling and containment — disposal must go to a licensed facility with a manifest.

Waste rock dump 1 · 24.6 haPlant / processing 1 · 20.5 haWaste rock dump 2 · 64.9 ha
No chemicals recorded — add them in the intake if the mine stores fuel, reagents or acids.
6
Site safety & drone surveillanceneeds detail

Every demarcated pit edge, tailings wall, dump slope, dam and plant area is a hazard to workers, the community and livestock. Fence and sign each one, keep an emergency plan, and fly a drone over them on a schedule: crest and slope surveys, pit-wall cracks, seepage, fence breaches and unauthorised access. Drone findings are evidence for the engineer, not a safety sign-off.

Dam / pollution-control dam 1
Drowning, overtopping in storms, contaminated water use by the community.
Water level and freeboard, liner damage, overflow paths and fence integrity.
Excavation / open pit 1
Falls from the edge, wall collapse, deep water in the void. Needs berms, fencing and signage.
Pit-wall survey for cracks and slumps; edge-fence and berm patrol; water level in the void.
Waste rock dump 1
Slope failure and rock fall; unsafe access for informal reclaimers.
Slope angle and volume survey; erosion and seepage at the toe; signs of unauthorised digging.
Plant / processing 1
Chemical spills, fire, unbunded fuel; restricted-access zone.
Perimeter security patrol, spill and stain detection, bund condition.
Waste rock dump 2
Slope failure and rock fall; unsafe access for informal reclaimers.
Slope angle and volume survey; erosion and seepage at the toe; signs of unauthorised digging.
Drone checks per feature are listed under each demarcated zone below.
7
Plan interventions & compliancerecommended

Turn the findings into a costed plan — rehabilitation, greening, wetlands, dust control, solar, community programmes and an underground air-quality pilot — and track compliance items against the authorisations. "Evidence missing" is never recorded as "non-compliant"; costs are scoped, not quoted.

Illustrative scenario, not a claim: closing the modelled gap would need roughly 0 trees (~0 ha) at 0.021 tCO₂e/tree/yr — before any survival, permanence or uncertainty discount. Greened so far: 0 ha of 0 ha disturbed (0%). Removals are modelled, not verified; credits cannot offset water or rehabilitation obligations.
